Kcc Baseball Vs Cod

Date: 03/15/2023

On March 15, 2023, KCC faced off against College of DuPage in a thrilling game that resulted in a 9-5 Cavalier victory. The game was close throughout, with KCC pulling ahead 8-2 only to see DuPage cut that lead to 3 heading into the eighth inning. KCC tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the 8th and Kaleb Waller came in and threw a perfect 9th to seal it for the Cavaliers.

The Cavs got off to a strong start, scoring two runs in the first inning with a 2 run HR by Jack Snyder. The home runs would continue in the 4th as Cole Freeman and Braedan MacDonald went back-to-back for KCC. In the 5th inning, Danny Puplava smashed a 3-run homer putting them ahead 8-2. DuPage managed to score three runs in the eighth inning, but KCC’s defense held strong and prevented any further runs.

The Cavs’ offense was led by several standout performances. Jack Snyder had a particularly impressive game, hitting a home run and driving in two runs. Danny Puplava also hit a home run and drove in three runs. Braedan MacDonald and Cole Freeman each had solo home runs, and Curtis McKay contributed with a double, a triple, and an RBI. Gavin Noreus and Andy Onnen also added hits for KCC.

On the pitching side, Zack Millsap picked up the win for KCC taking his record to 3-0, pitching six innings and allowing only two runs while striking out seven batters. Jackson Smith, Brett Hecimovich, and Kaleb Waller also contributed to KCC’s pitching effort.

KCC moves to 8-3 on the season and weather permitting will be back at home on Saturday to face College of Lake County for a 1pm start.
