KANKAKEE, Ill. — Kankakee Community College volleyball put together a competitive 2025 season, finishing 19-17 overall and closing the year with multiple All-Region 4 selections.
The Cavaliers showed growth and resilience throughout the season, playing a demanding schedule that included several strong Region 4 opponents and tournament matchups. KCC's season included several strong stretches, highlighted by a six-match winning streak in late September. During that run, the Cavaliers defeated Blackhawk Technical College, College of DuPage, Kellogg Community College, Carl Sandburg College, Moraine Valley Community College, and later added another road win at UW-Whitewater at Rock County.
One of the biggest moments of the season came in the postseason, when the Cavaliers defeated Carl Sandburg College 3-1 on Nov. 5 to advance in Region 4 tournament play. KCC then battled District B champion Sauk Valley Community College in a five-set match on Nov. 8, pushing one of the top teams in the district before falling 3-2.
The Cavaliers were recognized with three All-Region selections. Kennedi Huston earned First Team All-Region 4 honors after leading KCC with 349 kills, 3.01 kills per set, 344 digs, 33 service aces, 23 total blocks, and 401.0 points. Huston was the Cavaliers' top offensive option throughout the season and also provided major value defensively.

Rivolta finished with 788 assists, averaging 8.29 assists per set, while also adding 209 digs, 33 service aces, and 98.0 points. Cicvaric led KCC with 566 digs, averaging 4.68 digs per set, and also led the team with 43 service aces. Her ball control and defensive consistency were key parts of KCC's success throughout the season.
KCC also received strong production from several others. Libby Green finished second on the team with 217 kills and added 262 digs, 147 assists, 28 aces, and 261.5 points. Ana Pignatiello added 198 kills with a .239 hitting percentage, while Janice Jackson was one of the team's top front-row players, finishing with 189 kills and a team-best 59 total blocks.
Alyssa Pignatiello contributed 150 kills, 153 digs, 29 aces, and 27 total blocks, giving the Cavaliers another steady two-way contributor. Alyssa Johnston, Maddie Casino, Kendyl Christon, and Emily Cockream also provided important depth throughout the season.
As a team, KCC totaled 1,261 kills, 1,052 assists, 217 service aces, 1,903 digs, and 139 total blocks. The Cavaliers also held opponents to a .134 hitting percentage, showing the defensive effort and pressure they created throughout the year.
While the season ended short of a district championship, KCC's 19-win campaign, postseason victory, five-set battle with the eventual district champion, and three All-Region honorees gave the program a strong foundation to continue building from moving forward.
