Lady Cavs Fall to Rock Valley in Region Tournament Matchup
ROCKFORD, Ill. — May 1, 2026 — Kankakee Community College fell to Rock Valley College 13-3 in five innings during Region 4 tournament action Friday in Rockford.
The Lady Cavs were held scoreless through the first two innings before breaking through in the third. Trailing 10-0, KCC answered with two runs in the top half of the inning, highlighted by a two-run home run from Brittyn Bailey. The blast brought in Sophia Culp and gave the Lady Cavs momentum after Rock Valley's big third inning.
KCC added another run in the fifth, but Rock Valley's offense proved too much to overcome. The Golden Eagles scored 10 runs in the third inning and added three more in the fourth to build the lead.
Bailey led the Lady Cavs offensively, going 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs, and a run scored. Savanna Trivett added a hit, scored a run, and stole two bases, while Emma Powers also recorded a hit for KCC. Culp reached base with a walk and scored.
Rock Valley finished with 14 hits, including six doubles and a home run. Addie Seitz led the Golden Eagles with a home run and three RBIs, while McKenzie Culvey went 4-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored.
Bracie Jackson started in the circle for KCC, with Bethany Dachsteiner also seeing action in relief. The Lady Cavs' pitching staff combined for one strikeout.
Despite the loss, KCC continued its postseason run in the Region 4 tournament.
