Cavs Movin’ On
KCC Student-Athletes Continue Careers at Four-Year Programs
Kankakee Community College Athletics is proud to recognize the Cavaliers student-athletes who have committed to continue their academic and athletic careers at four-year institutions.
This year’s group represents multiple KCC programs and reflects one of the department’s core goals: helping student-athletes develop, compete, graduate, and move on to the next level. Not all sophomores have finalized their college decisions yet, and additional commitments will be announced as they become official.
Women’s Soccer
Sophia Scott — Sterling College, NAIA
Sophia Scott will continue her soccer career at Sterling College, an NAIA program in Kansas.
Scott was a reliable presence for the Lady Cavs throughout the 2025 season, appearing in all 17 matches and making 14 starts. She finished the year with one goal, one assist, and three total points while putting all five of her shot attempts on goal.
Her consistency and ability to contribute in different areas helped KCC throughout the season. Scott’s next step at Sterling College gives her the opportunity to continue growing in a competitive four-year program.
Men’s Soccer
Jeremiah Bennett — University of the Southwest, NAIA
Jeremiah Bennett will continue his soccer career at the University of the Southwest, an NAIA program in New Mexico.
Bennett was one of the most consistent players in the Cavaliers’ lineup, starting all 17 matches during the 2025 season. He finished with one goal, one assist, and three total points while ranking among the team leaders with 24 shot attempts.
His role required him to create chances, compete every match, and provide stability for KCC. Bennett now takes that experience with him as he continues his academic and athletic career at the next level.
Carter Levesque — IU Northwest, NAIA
Carter Levesque will continue his soccer career at IU Northwest, an NAIA program in Indiana.
Levesque carried a major role for the Cavaliers, starting 17 matches and serving as KCC’s primary goalkeeper. In goal, he logged 1,355 minutes, made 116 saves, posted a .784 save percentage, and helped KCC record two shutouts.
He also found a way to contribute offensively, scoring one goal on the season. His competitiveness, versatility, and willingness to take on responsibility made him a valuable part of the men’s soccer program.
Women’s Basketball
Mariya Babilius — Rockford University, NCAA Division III
Mariya Babilius will continue her basketball career at Rockford University, an NCAA Division III program.
Babilius was an important piece of a Lady Cavs team that finished 23-9. She played in all 32 games, made 28 starts, and averaged 9.1 points per game. She shot 41.9 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from three-point range, and 81 percent from the free throw line.
Her ability to stretch the floor and knock down shots gave KCC another reliable scoring option throughout the season. Babilius now moves on to Rockford University after helping the Lady Cavs put together a strong year.
Alana Ross — University of Northwest Ohio, NAIA
Alana Ross will continue her basketball career at the University of Northwest Ohio, an NAIA program.
Ross was one of the central pieces of the Lady Cavs’ 23-win season. She started all 32 games and averaged 12.7 points, 3.0 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game. She also made 57 three-pointers, giving KCC a consistent perimeter scoring threat.
Ross brought production on both ends of the floor. Her scoring, playmaking, defensive pressure, and leadership helped drive the Lady Cavs throughout the year.
Jaida Taylor — Harris-Stowe State University, NAIA
Jaida Taylor will continue her basketball career at Harris-Stowe State University, an NAIA program.
Taylor gave KCC dependable frontcourt minutes throughout the 2025-26 season, appearing in all 32 games. She averaged 4.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while shooting 50.5 percent from the field.
Her efficiency around the basket, physicality, and rebounding helped strengthen the Lady Cavs’ rotation. Taylor’s opportunity at Harris-Stowe reflects the development she showed during her time at KCC.
Men’s Basketball
Adrien Armstrong — Bluefield University, NAIA
Adrien Armstrong will continue his basketball career at Bluefield University, an NAIA program.
Armstrong started all 32 games for the Cavaliers and was a steady two-way presence throughout KCC’s 22-win season. He averaged 9.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while shooting 45 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from three-point range.
He also attacked the basket consistently, getting to the free throw line 152 times. Armstrong’s toughness, reliability, and competitive approach made him an important piece for the Cavaliers.
Ricardo Corvil — New College of Florida, NAIA
Ricardo Corvil will continue his basketball career at New College of Florida, an NAIA program.
Corvil was one of the Cavaliers’ most impactful frontcourt players. He played in all 32 games and averaged 10.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while shooting 56.3 percent from the field.
Defensively, he added 47 blocks and 43 steals, showing his ability to affect the game beyond scoring. His size, activity, rebounding presence, and defensive impact helped KCC throughout the season.
Santana Flowers — Baker University, NAIA
Santana Flowers will continue his basketball career at Baker University, an NAIA program.
Flowers started all 32 games and gave the Cavaliers a strong, consistent presence inside. He averaged 11.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while shooting 54.4 percent from the field.
His physicality, finishing ability, and work on the glass helped anchor KCC in the paint. Flowers was a dependable part of the Cavaliers’ success and now moves on to continue competing at Baker University.
Nashawn Holmes — Minnesota State Moorhead University, NCAA Division II
Nashawn Holmes will continue his basketball career at Minnesota State Moorhead University, an NCAA Division II program.
Holmes was one of KCC’s top offensive weapons during the 2025-26 season. He started 31 games and averaged 17.7 points per game while shooting 48.3 percent from the field, 45.6 percent from three-point range, and 82.4 percent from the free throw line.
His efficiency and shot-making made him a major scoring threat every night. Holmes also added 3.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per game before earning the opportunity to continue at the NCAA Division II level.
Ali Mbaye — Judson University, NAIA
Ali Mbaye will continue his basketball career at Judson University, an NAIA program.
Mbaye appeared in 22 games for the Cavaliers and provided valuable frontcourt depth. He shot 52 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from three-point range, and 90.9 percent from the free throw line.
His efficiency and ability to contribute when called upon helped KCC’s rotation. Mbaye now moves on to Judson University to continue his academic and athletic career.
Baseball
Kollin Asbury — Western Illinois University, NCAA Division I
Kollin Asbury will continue his baseball career at Western Illinois University, an NCAA Division I program.
Asbury was a regular starter for the Cavaliers, making 13 appearances with 12 starts. He finished the season with six wins and 60 strikeouts over 55.1 innings.
He gave KCC meaningful innings throughout the year and showed the ability to compete as part of a strong pitching staff. Asbury now moves on to Western Illinois with the opportunity to continue developing at the Division I level.
Trey Blanchette — Saint Xavier University, NAIA
Trey Blanchette will continue his baseball career at Saint Xavier University, an NAIA program.
Blanchette was a productive offensive piece for the Cavaliers, hitting .357 in 35 games. He added six doubles, 11 RBIs, and posted a .438 on-base percentage.
He brought a quality approach at the plate and was dependable defensively, finishing with a .971 fielding percentage. Blanchette now takes his game to Saint Xavier University.
Joe Catalano — University of Illinois, NCAA Division I
Joe Catalano will continue his baseball career at the University of Illinois, an NCAA Division I program.
Catalano was one of KCC’s top arms during the season, making 11 starts and finishing with a 5-4 record. He struck out 75 hitters in 49.2 innings, held opponents to a .206 batting average, and posted a 3.62 ERA.
He also recorded two complete games and one shutout. Catalano’s ability to miss bats and handle a starter’s role earned him the opportunity to continue in the Big Ten at Illinois.
Clay Gadbois — Middle Tennessee State University, NCAA Division I
Clay Gadbois will continue his baseball career at Middle Tennessee State University, an NCAA Division I program.
Gadbois was a workhorse for the Cavaliers’ rotation, making 12 starts and throwing 69 innings. He finished with six wins, 77 strikeouts, and a 3.39 ERA.
His ability to take the ball consistently and give KCC quality starts made him a major part of the staff. Gadbois now moves on to Middle Tennessee State to compete at the Division I level.
Connor Gaitens — Southeastern University, NAIA
Connor Gaitens will continue his baseball career at Southeastern University, an NAIA program in Florida.
Gaitens put together one of the most complete seasons on the roster. At the plate, he hit .339 with 19 doubles, 13 home runs, 69 RBIs, a .672 slugging percentage, and a .496 on-base percentage.
Behind the plate, he was just as valuable, finishing with a .998 fielding percentage while helping manage the pitching staff. His combination of offensive production, defensive reliability, and leadership made him one of KCC’s most impactful players.
Thomas Offill — Gardner-Webb University, NCAA Division I
Thomas Offill will continue his baseball career at Gardner-Webb University, an NCAA Division I program.
Offill was sidelined during the 2026 season with an injury, limiting his opportunity to contribute on the field for the Cavaliers. Before the injury, he had already proven himself with an outstanding freshman season at KCC. In 2025, Offill hit .395 across 52 games, collecting 60 hits, 34 runs, five doubles, one home run, 28 RBIs, and 17 stolen bases. He also posted a .495 on-base percentage and finished the year with a .963 fielding percentage.
Although his sophomore season did not go the way he hoped physically, Offill’s freshman production, athleticism, and upside helped earn him the opportunity to continue his career at the Division I level. He now heads to Gardner-Webb University with the chance to get healthy, continue developing, and compete at a high level.
Maddox Quesnelle — University of Maryland Baltimore County, NCAA Division I
Maddox Quesnelle will continue his baseball career at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, an NCAA Division I program.
Quesnelle was a regular part of the Cavaliers’ pitching staff, making 13 appearances with nine starts. He finished with four wins and 71 strikeouts in 51 innings.
His ability to miss bats and handle meaningful innings made him an important arm for KCC. Quesnelle now moves on to UMBC to continue his career at the Division I level.
Trevor Syer — University of Oklahoma Arts and Sciences, NCAA Division II
Trevor Syer will continue his baseball career at the University of Oklahoma Arts and Sciences, an NCAA Division II program.
Syer worked primarily out of the bullpen for KCC, making 10 appearances. He finished with a 4.09 ERA and struck out 10 hitters in 11 innings.
He provided depth in relief and made the most of his opportunities when called upon. Syer now moves on to continue his academic and athletic career at the NCAA Division II level.
Hank Vandermeer — Northwestern State University, NCAA Division I
Hank Vandermeer will continue his baseball career at Northwestern State University, an NCAA Division I program.
Vandermeer was one of the most versatile and valuable players on the Cavaliers’ roster. Offensively, he hit .324 with 12 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 51 RBIs, and a .477 on-base percentage.
He also made a major impact on the mound, posting a 1.80 ERA in 18 appearances, recording four saves, striking out 37 hitters in 35 innings, and holding opponents to a .182 batting average.
His two-way production gave KCC a unique weapon throughout the season. Vandermeer now moves on to Northwestern State with the chance to continue competing at the Division I level.
Cavaliers Continue to Move On
The opportunity to continue at a four-year program is a major accomplishment for any student-athlete. For KCC Athletics, this group reflects the department’s continued commitment to development, competition, and helping Cavaliers reach the next level.
From soccer and basketball to baseball, KCC student-athletes continue to earn opportunities beyond the junior college level. More commitments will be announced as additional student-athletes finalize their plans.
